Job Title: Capital Projects & Restoration Intern (Winter 2025)

Brooklyn Bridge Park (BBP) is looking to hire a Capital Projects & Restoration Intern to assist on a variety of tasks related to the Park’s construction and ongoing maintenance. The Winter 2025 intern will work alongside the Capital Maintenance Team on various maintenance, construction, and data management projects. Working alongside BBP’s Data Asset Manager, they will assist in data collection and training document development for various types of existing park infrastructure. The Intern will work with the Project Manager on various administrative tasks related to ongoing and upcoming Capital improvement projects and construction management tasks. Candidates should be available to work up to 25 hours per week (3 days). This is a temporary paid internship. Typical hours range from 9am – 5pm. The position runs from January 6, 2025 – April 31, 2025.
Primary Responsibilities:
Brooklyn Bridge Park seeks a graduate candidate in architecture, landscape architecture, urban planning, urban design or related fields. We are seeking candidates who possess solid writing skills, research acumen, communications abilities, ability to read design plans, use Adobe Illustrator, and familiarity with construction project management.

Brooklyn Bridge Park, one of the largest and most significant public projects to be built in New York City in a generation, has transformed a once dilapidated industrial waterfront into a vibrant and thriving 85-acre civic landscape. The Brooklyn Bridge Park Corporation (BBP) develops, improves, maintains, and fully operates the Park as a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit entity, controlled by the City of New York. BBP is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the Park, including horticulture, maintenance, capital planning and construction, event permitting, and concession oversight. The Park is designed by the Brooklyn-based landscape architecture firm Michael Van Valkenburgh Associates, Inc.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Data entry, cleaning, process development and internal file-keeping
- Planning and organizing
- Assist in the organization of BBP’s project archive and will work on research projects with discretion
- Liaise with BBP’s legal department and outside contractors to ensure contracts are up to date and the Park’s compliance documentation requirements are met
- Coordinate with BBP’s finance team to set up vendor accounts and contractor profiles in the Park’s finance system
- Support Project Managers on project close out, including archiving documents and updating internal project management systems
- Support the Capital Maintenance team in the development of administrative process improvements and efficiencies
- Recent college grads or graduate students in relevant fields (urban planning, project management, GIS, construction management, etc.)
